Most of the Mongolian pieces originated in monasteries where there was no consumer class that wanted luxury goods. The monk’s lack of skill usually resulted in very basic furniture, but some monk’s had a strong talent for drawer construction and artwork.
The Tibetan furniture will usually have pictures of dragons and other religious subjects.

chic ottoman jewelry from turkey
Jewelry designer Huseyin Sagtan, from Diyarbakir, Turkey began his career as a shoemaker and later made jewelry to sell at local markets. He began researching how jewelry was made during the Ottoman Empire and developed his own distinctive style by tying threads of silk together. He is a favorite of many international celebrities, and has designed jewelry for feature films such as Troy, Eragon and The Other Boleyn Girl.
